Abstract

Printing paper for an industrial rotary inkjet printing press is provided that has superior printability with respect to an offset printing press, and has superior color density uniformity, inhibition of ink strike-through and dot reproducibility with respect to an industrial rotary inkjet printing press using water-based pigment ink. The printing paper for an industrial rotary inkjet printing press comprises a base paper and at least one coating layer containing pigment, binder and water-soluble polyvalent cation salt on at least one side of the base paper, wherein at least one of the pigment is kaolin having an average particle diameter of 0.20 μm to 1.50 μm, and the content of the kaolin in the coating layer is 50 parts by weight or more based on 100 parts by weight of the pigment in the coating layer, the content of the water-soluble polyvalent cation salt in the coating layer is 1.0 parts by weight to 6.0 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the pigment in the coating layer, and the surface resistivity on the coating layer side of the printing paper in an environment at 23° C. and 50% RH as determined basically in compliance with JIS K 6911:2006 is 2.0×1010 Ω to 5.0×1012 Ω.
