The present invention relates to plant of the species Cucumis melo, said plant comprising a genetic element derived from a plant of the species Cucumis melo var. agrestis, which genetic element comprises a closterovirus-resistance-conferring QTL or a closterovirus-resistance-conferring part thereof linked to at least one marker located on the chromosome equivalent to linkage group (LG) 6 of melon accession PI 313970, wherein said plant is not melon accession PI 313970.
