Disclosed are methods of treating a muscle disease and improving normal muscle function by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an isoprenoid antibiotic. Also disclosed are methods of upregulating hnRNP L and hnRNP L targets by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an isoprenoid antibiotic.
