Abstract
In an embodiment, the invention provides a surface treated calcium carbonate and method for making the same. In embodiments, the calcium carbonate is surface treated with a hydrophobic compound, such as a trialkoxyalkylsilane (i.e., triethoxycaprylylsilane), fluoro high purity ammonium C6-16 perfluoroalkyl phosphate, or dimethicone trimethylsiloxysilane.
