A sleeve for partially covering a paint brush, the sleeve comprising a first substantially flat face and a second substantially flat face joined to each other by side faces, a first opening for receiving a ferrule of a paint brush and a second opening for receiving a shank portion of the paint brush, and at least one guide chosen from the group consisting of a thumb guide, an index finger guide, and a middle finger guide.
