Abstract
In its broadest concept, the present invention relates to an improved gear oil comprising: a) a base oil having a viscosity range of 4 to 32 cSt at 100.degree. C.; b) a maximum level of hydrocarbyl polysulfide with a minimum level of active S species; c) a dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphate ester or salt; and d) a dihydrocarbyl (mono)thiophosphate amine salt, essentially free of phosphite.
