Abstract
Weaving machine, method and selvedge forming apparatus for introducing into a shed an end (30A) of a weft thread (30) which has been inserted into a shed, the selvedge forming apparatus (4, 5, 6) being provided with a device (20) for introducing the end of the inserted weft thread into a subsequent shed, wherein the selvedge forming apparatus (4, 5, 6) includes a blowing device (50) having at least one blowing opening (51) which, in use, is positioned at the level of the plane of a selvedge (16, 17) of the woven fabric (2, 3), with the blowing device (50), blowing essentially toward the beat-up line (36) in a direction opposite to the direction of fabric movement.
