Abstract
This invention relates to compounds which are N-oxides and derivatives thereof, as well as their use to treat HIF related diseases. These compounds have the general formula set out below and are used to treat a variety of diseases associated with HIF: ##STR00001## wherein R is an alkyl, aryl, arakyl or derivatives thereof such as CH.sub.3OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2--, CH.sub.3CH.sub.2OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2--, C.sub.6H.sub.5OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2--, C.sub.6H.sub.5CH.sub.2--, CH.sub.3(CH.sub.2).sub.3OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2Cl; or any one of the following: ##STR00002##
