The invention relates to the use of chiral sulfamic acids as resolving agents, the sulfamic acid having the formula (R.sub.1,R.sub.2)N--SO3H, wherein: R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, being the same or different, represent a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-C.sub.30 linear, branched or cyclic (hetero)-aliphatic or (hetero)-aromatic group, provided that R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are not both hydrogen and that at least one of the R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 groups is chiral. Further, methods for resolving enantiomeric mixtures are disclosed.
