Abstract
A method of manufacturing an optical recording substrate, comprising the steps of: contacting the surface having pit or land/grooves of a stamper having the pit or land/grooves to an organic polymer sheet having a glass transition temperature of 120 to 190.degree. C., a single-pass birefringence retardation of +10 nm to -10 nm and a thickness of 0.35 mm or less under reduced pressure; and thermally pressing them. According to this method, an optical recording substrate which can transfer a stamper pattern to a thin organic polymer sheet easily and thoroughly can be manufactured.
