Abstract
A record carrier, and method for manufacturing such record carrier, which can be copies with the aid of a copying apparatus, while the copied record carrier is unreadable. During copying with the aid of the copying apparatus, merge bits are selected such that consecutive channel bits or a first type, the type '1', are separated by at least Ia and at most Ib consecutive and continuous bits of the second type, the type '0', and vice versa.
