Abstract
Processes for producing polyester amides, by reacting a polyisobutylene with a first reagent selected from the group consisting of at least monounsaturated acids having from 3 to 21 carbon atoms and derivatives thereof; and a second reagent selected from the group consisting of monoethanolamine and alkylamines of the general formula R—NH2, wherein R represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; are described. The polyester amides thus produced and their uses in stabilizing asphaltenes in crude oil and crude oil derivatives are also described.
