A tie-down connecting elements (30) for tying down a truss relative to a wall frame is fixed between the webs (12) of the upper and lower Z-shaped chords (10) and includes a tongue portion (34) which extends downwardly through a slot (50) formed in the lower flange (16) of the lower chord (10) of the truss.
