Abstract
A method and a briquetting press for briquetting metal chips wherein stable briquettes/pressed components are produced. The actual length (L.sub.act) of the pressed component is obtained by applying pressure (P.sub.max /P.sub.req) using at least one pressing ram (1,2) and measuring the length with a measuring device (5, 6). The measured value is compared to a desired nominal value (L.sub.nom) and a difference value (.DELTA.) is subsequently determined.
