Abstract
The present invention relates to a benzoxazole compound represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 each represents hydrogen atom, C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy group, C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl group, C.sub.1-4 haloalkoxy group, halogen atom, nitro group, cyano group, etc.; R.sup.5 represents C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl group, C.sub.1-4 haloalkoxy group, halogen atom, nitro group, cyano group, etc.; R.sup.6 represents hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, nitro group, etc.; R.sup.7 represents hydrogen atom, C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl group, etc.; and X represents O, S, SO or SO.sub.2, a process for producing the same and a herbicide containing the same as an effective ingredient.
