Abstract
A traction drive fluid is provided containing a naphthenic compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 through R.sup.4 are each independently hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and A is a naphthenic hydrocarbon group, a saturated polycyclic hydrocarbon group, a naphthenic ester group, or a naphthenic carbonate group.
