Abstract
The present invention is directed towards novel compounds that are effective inhibitors of integrins, particularly .alpha..sub.IIb.beta..sub.3 or .alpha..sub.v integrins such as .alpha..sub.v.beta..sub.3 and .alpha..sub.v.beta..sub.5. One embodiment of the present invention comprises a compound of formula (I) or formula (II) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or metabolic precursor thereof. R1, R2, R3, and R4 are defined herein. ##STR1##
