Abstract
Timing jitter sequences .DELTA..phi..sup.j [n] and .DELTA..phi..sup.k [n] of respective clock signals under measurement x.sub.j (t) and x.sub.k (t) are obtained, and a covariance .sigma..sub.tj,tk =(1/N).SIGMA..sub.i=1.sup.N.DELTA..phi..sup.j [i].multidot..DELTA..phi..sup.k [i] is obtained. In addition, root-mean-square values .sigma..sub.tj and .sigma..sub.tk of the respective .DELTA..phi..sup.j [n] and .DELTA..phi..sup.k [n] are obtained, and a cross-correlation coefficient .rho.=.sigma..sub.tj,tk /(.sigma..sub.tj.multidot..sigma..sub.tk) between the x.sub.j (t) and x.sub.k (t) is calculated.
