Abstract
Provided is a photothermographic material having, on one surface of its support, at least one type of photosensitive silver halide grains, a non-photosensitive silver salt of an organic acid, a reducing agent for silver ions, and a binder; which contains an organic polyhalogen compound of the following general formula (I) and in which the silver halide grains have a hexacyano-metal complex of the following general formula (II) in their outermost surfaces: ##STR1## wherein Q represents an alkyl group optionally having one or more substituents, an aryl group optionally having one or more substituents, or a heterocyclic group optionally having one or more substituents; X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each independently represent a halogen atom; Z represents a hydrogen atom or an electron-attracting group; Y represents --C(.dbd.O)--, --SO-- or --SO.sub.2 --; and n indicates 0 or 1; [M(CN).sub.6 ].sup.n- (II) wherein M represents Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Cr or Re; and n indicates 3 or 4. The material is fogged little, and gives good images, and its image storability in forced light is good.
