Abstract
Epoxysuccinamide derivatives of the formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or aralkyl; R.sup.2 is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or aralkyl; R.sup.3 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, aralkyl, heterocyclic, or heterocyclic-alkyl; X is --O-- or --NR.sup.4 -- (R.sup.4 is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heterocyclic, or heterocyclic-alkyl); Y.sup.1 is OR.sup.5, SR.sup.6, or NR.sup.7 R.sup.8 ; and Y.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl. The compounds are useful as remedies for bone diseases and arthritis.
