N-Phenylpyrazole derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents optionally halogenated alkyl; R.sup.2 represents halogen, cyano, nitro, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, thiocyanato, optionally alkyl substituted sulphamoyl, optionally alkyl substituted carbamoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkanoyl or optionally halogenated alkyl; and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a group N'R'' or a variety of other groupings. These compounds possess arthropodicidal, plant nematocidal, anthelmintic and anti-protozoal properties; their preparation, compositions containing them and their use are described.
