Water-soluble polymers of Formula Useful comprising from about 0.001 to about 10.0 mole percent of a Repeating Mer Unit represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein a is an integer of from 1 to 10, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl groups, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are methyl groups, and R.sub.9 is selected from the group consisting of NH and O; and TAG is a fluorescing moiety; are described and claimed.
