Abstract
The present invention relates to novel naphthopyrans having a cyclic group annelated in position 6,7. These naphthopyrans have formula (I) given below: ##STR1## These compounds (I) have advantageous photochromic properties. The invention also covers a method of preparing these naphthopyrans, as well as their applications as photochromes and compositions and (co)polymers matrices comprising them.
