This invention is directed to a method of selectively controlling undesirable vegetation in corn, comprising application of an herbicidally effective amount of an isoxazole having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a straight- or branched-chain alkyl having up to six carbon atoms, to the locus of such vegetation.
