Abstract
A method for processing samples in a sealable container which is transparent to electromagnetic radiation, includes a) the sample and a polar non-solid medium being introduced into the container, b) the container being placed in a vessel which is transparent to electromagnetic radiation and which is filled with a nonpolar coolant which is transparent to electromagnetic radiation, and c) the vessel being irradiated with electromagnetic radiation, the temperature of the coolant being maintained lower than 5.degree. C. and a vessel being used which is provided with an insulating material which is transparent to electromagnetic radiation.
