Abstract
A photoreceptor for electrophotography of the present invention includes a photosensitive layer provided on a conductive support, the photosensitive layer containing a bishydrazone compound represented by the following general formula (Ia): ##STR1## where: R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a heterocyclic group, or an alkyl group which has 1 to 4 carbon atoms; 'a' represents an alkyl group which has 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group which has 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a dialkylamino group which has 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, or a hydrogen atom; and n represents an integer of 1 to 3, wherein, if n is 2 or greater, a plurality of 'a' substituents may be identical to or different from one another, or the substituents may form a ring.
