Abstract
Process for the in situ polymerization of ethylene with C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefins in suspension of liquid monomer in the presence of a catalyst containing Vanadium obtained by the precipitation, in an atmosphere of ethylene or alpha-olefins, of: a) a compound of Vanadium in the oxidation state of 3 to 5, with b) a basically hydrocarbon solution of a compound selected from those having general formula R.sub.n AlX.sub.m wherein R is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl radical, X is a halogen, m+n=3, n is an integer from 0 to 2.
