The present application relates to water-soluble copper phthalocyanine dyestuffs of the formula I ##STR1## in which CuPc is a copper phthalocyanine radical; X is a straight-chain or branched alkylene having 2 to 6 carbon atoms; Y is a straight-chain or branched alkylene having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or a straight-chain or branched alkylene having 1 to 6 carbon atoms which is substituted by hydroxyl, carboxyl or amino; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyalkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aminoalkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sup.4 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; M is a monovalent cation or one equivalent of a polyvalent cation; a and b independently of one another are 1 or 2 and c is 0 or 1 the sum a+b+c being 3 or 4, processes for their preparation, their use for dyeing and printing naturally occurring and synthetic fiber materials, and recording liquids, in particular for the inkjet process, and liquid formulations for pulp-dyeing of paper which comprise the dyestuffs according to the invention.
