Abstract
An agitator is capable of efficiently agitating clothing without damaging fibers of the clothing. The agitator includes an agitating section having agitating pieces, which are capable of agitating clothes, or any other medium, and a driving mechanism for moving the agitating section. The driving mechanism moves the agitating section in a plane such that each agitating piece moves in a substantially identically shaped path.
