Abstract
Purified .alpha..sub.1 -acid glycoprotein and a process for preparing purified .alpha..sub.1 -acid glycoprotein. The process comprises providing an impure protein fraction, binding contaminants, but not .alpha..sub.1 -acid glycoprotein, to a cation-exchange medium, and binding .alpha..sub.1 -acid glycoprotein to an anion-exchange medium, and eluting the .alpha..sub.1 -acid glycoprotein from the anion-exchange medium.
