Abstract
Glycerol, glycidol, glycerol carbonate or 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-methanol is polymerized into preponderantly linear oligomers at 150.degree. C. to 350.degree. C. in the presence of a catalyst, selected from RbF, CsF and/or KF impregnated on alumina and zirconium oxide. The alumina is preferably gamma-alumina.
