Abstract
Glycerol, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-methanol (Solketal), glycidol or glycerol carbonate is polymerized into preponderantly linear oligomers at 150.degree. C. to 350.degree. C. in the presence of anionic clay material, preferably hydrotalcite, as a catalyst.
