Abstract
Discoloration of cumene hydroperoxide is reduced or inhibited by adding to the cumene hydroperoxide an effective amount on the order of 30 to 1000 ppm of a stabilizer of the formula R'C(O)OM wherein R' is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aryl containing 1-40 carbon atoms, or the formula R.sub.4 NOH wherein each R is independently alkyl or cycloalkyl containing 1-40 carbon atoms.
