Self-extinguishing polymeric compositions comprising ammonium polyphosphateaving the general formula (I): (NH.sub.4).sub.n+2 P.sub.n O.sub.3n+1 (I) microencapsulated with condensation compounds obtained by means of the polymerization of polyaminic compositions essentially constituted by derivatives of 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazine, having the general formula (II): ##STR1## with aldehydes, preferably formaldehyde.
