The present invention relates to an agent for magnetographic printers that includes a plurality (k) of elementary magnetic layers, having relatively hard hysteresis cycles with a threshold effect and marked saturation, of which the coercivity and/or thickness of the layers varies as a function of the position of the layer on a soft magnetic substrate.
