Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for the pretreatment of a fabric containing cotton, in which the fabric is treated in at least one pretreatment bath for a predetermined period of time at an increased temperature and subsequently washed or neutralised. The treatment of the fabric in the pretreatment bath is performed at a temperature of more than 102.degree. C., particularly at a temperature between 120.degree. C. and 140.degree. C.
