Abstract
A detergent composition which comprises (A) an N-acyl amino acid salt of an amino acid selected from glycine, alanine and .beta.-alanine where the acyl group is a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid residue having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and (B) a higher fatty acid salt at a Component (A)/Component (B) weight ratio of 99.5/0.5 to 90/10, and another detergent composition derived from the above composition, which comprises further a higher alcohol and/or polyhydric alcohol. According to the present invention, properties of N-acyl amino acid salts as detergents can be improved.
