Abstract
The invention relates to a dental cement, a process for its preparation and its use. The cement contains a polymerisable mono or polyfunctional carbonyl compound which corresponds to one of the following general formulae: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 may be an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy or aryl group or a combination thereof, R.sup.2 may be an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy or aryl group, a combination thereof or hydrogen, R.sup.3 may be an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy or aryl group, a combination thereof or hydrogen, and X is either not present or may be O, NR, NH or S, where R may be an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy or aryl group or a combination thereof, and at least one of the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2 or R.sup.3 is also substituted by a group Y containing at least one polymerisable vinyl group, except for compounds containing naphthyl groups substituted with carboxylic acid anhydride functions.
