Abstract
An information input device comprises an input pen, a tablet having a transparent coordinate input board with which the input pen is placed in contact and a coordinate detection board for detecting the contact coordinate of the input pen, a display unit for supporting the tablet, and an arithmetic portion for calculating the contact coordinate of the input pen relative to the transparent input board. The input pen has a conductive contact portion coated with a high polymer film with a bending elastic modulus equal to or less than 300 kg/mm.sup.2 and a hardness of 50 to 120 on the Rockwell R scale and in which a coefficient of dynamic friction between the input pen and the coordinate input board is 0.15 to 0.4. The operational properties when the input pen contacts the transparent coordinate input board are good, and a display on the display unit is easily seen even through the transparent coordinate input board.
