The invention relates to compound of formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or hydroxy; R.sup.2 is hydrogen or methyl; R.sup.3 is hydrogen or methyl; and R is 2-pyridyl, 3-pyridyl or --C.sub.6 H.sub.4 --R.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is hydrogen or hydroxy, or a non-toxic salt thereof, which are useful in the treatment of diabetes.
