Abstract
A mixture of C.sub.16 -C.sub.28 alkyl glucosides (A) and C.sub.16 -C.sub.28 fatty alcohols (B) in a weight ratio (A):(B) of between 20:1 and 1:9 possesses foam inhibiting properties even when highly diluted. The mixture is suitable for use in the food industry, and is preferably employed in a chemically inert liquid carrier oil that is immiscible with water.
