Multilayer polymer material with barrier properties containing a layer (a) of a polymer with barrier properties and a layer (b) of copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride. The polymer of layer (a) is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol and the said material also has a lyer (c) of a copolymer of ethylene containing units derived from an unsatured dicarboxylic acid anhydride and layer (c) is in contact with layer (a).
