Abstract
A liquid crystal display device including a nematic liquid crystal material twisted between about 180.degree. to 360.degree. is driven by the time-sharing addressing technique at a driving waveform less than 2.sqroot.N.multidot.V with a bias ratio of between about 1/(.sqroot.N-N/200) and 1/(.sqroot.N-N/50) where N.gtoreq.300 to realize improved contrast and faster response speeds.
