Abstract
An arrangement for providing RF coupling cancellation between an array of antennas of a missile is shown. The present invention includes positioning a dielectric material across a portion of the axis of the waveguide antennas of a missile. The dielectric material induces further coupling which is equal to and opposite in phase to coupling normally present between the receiving and transmitting antennas of an array. The two couplings are approximately 180 degrees out of phase and cancel each other. As a result, a high degree of isolation is obtained between antennas of an array. This enables the missile to detect targets with a high degree precision. Further, a radome of QFELT.RTM. material may be applied over the dielectric material to prevent the dielectric material from ablation during high velocity flight.
