Abstract
A method and apparatus for controlling the magnetic field value within a specified volume subject to an external ambient magnetic field wherein the apparatus includes a number of magnetic field generators each associated with one of a number of magnetic sensors. The disposition of the magnetic field generators with respect to one another and to the associated sensors is such that the total effect of current selectively applied to the generators is to produce within the volume a magnetic field in opposition to the ambient external magnetic field.
