A heat and oil resistant insulating composition for use as an insulating layer of an electric insulating wire, a material for an extrusion mold and an insulating layer of a cord-shaped heater, comprising an ethylene tetrafluoride-propylene copolymer, a methacrylic ester or acrylie ester as a cross-linking auxiliary and an organic peroxide as a cross-linking agent. The composition is cross-linked under the atmospheric pressure.
