Abstract

A silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, the silver halide color photographic material containing at least one pyrazoloazole type coupler represented by the general formula (I) and at least one compound represented by the general formula (II). ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon coupling reacti1 Za, Zb and Zc each represents a methine group, a substituted methine grou .dbd.N-- or --NH--, one of the Za--Zb bond and the Zb--Zc bond being a double bond and the other being a single bond; when the Zb--Zc bond is a carbon-carbon double bond, the Zb--Zc bond may be a part of a condensed aromatic ring; R.sub.1 or X may also form a polymer including a dimer or more; and when Za, Zb or Zc is a substituted methine group, the substituted methine group may form a polymer including a dimer or more, with the proviso that when Za and Zb are nitrogen atoms and Zc is a methine group or a substituted methine group, X is not a hydrogen atom, ##STR2## wherein M represents nickel, cobalt, maganese, copper, iron, zinc, palladium or platinum; an R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, each represesnts an alkyl group, aryl group, alkoxy group, alkylthio group, aryloxy group or an arylthio group. The silver halide color photographic material provides magenta color image having improved fastness to light, humidity and heat without accompanying with coloration of white background.
