Thiadiazole guanidines of formula 1 ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 alkyl and their non-toxic salts. Processes for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions thereof. The compounds exhibit anti-convulsant activity and are indicated for use in the treatment of epilepsy.
