Abstract
Liquid crystals having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group of three to twelve carbon atoms, R' is an alkyl of five to twelve carbon atoms, and X is a chlorine atom or a fluorine atom. Preferred alkyl groups for R' are octyl. The compounds are particularly useful in mixtures with other liquid crystal compounds in which they exhibit synergistic effects.
