Abstract
This application discloses a method for increasing the recoverable sugar from sugar beet plants by applying to the sugar beet plants an effective amount of a compound having the structural formula: ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxy and hydroxyalkyl and R.sup.1 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxy and hydroxyalkyl.
